ABOUT SHANE COWDEN
Veteran. Writer. Storyteller.
Real experiences. Fictional worlds.
The same human truths.

My Story
I’m Shane Cowden, a Canadian veteran, husband, father, and author. My experiences have shaped the way I see people, conflict, loss, loyalty, and resilience—and those themes continue to influence the stories I write.
Writing gives me a way to explore the human side of difficult experiences. Whether a story unfolds in the isolation of Alaska or beneath the wide skies of the American West, I’m drawn to characters who are tested by circumstance and forced to decide who they become.
I write stories about resilience, consequence, grief, loyalty, and the things people carry with them long after the moment has passed.

"Stories help us make sense of the chaos. They remind us that we're not alone."
- Shane Cowden
Behind the Stories.
My writing is influenced by real places, real people, and real experiences. From the mountains of Alaska to the deserts of Arizona, I’m drawn to landscapes that test people—places where survival isn’t guaranteed and choices carry weight.
The settings may change, but the focus stays the same: character-driven stories with heart, tension, and consequence.
